Riverdale is an American teen drama TV series based on the characters of Archie Comics. The series was adapted and developed by Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa for The CW. He is also the chief creative officer of Archie Comics. Warner Bros. Television and CBS Studios, associated with Berlanti Productions and Archie Comics, produced Riverdale. It debuted on January 26, 2017.

The Archie comic remake is a crime drama mystery that follows modern-day versions of the Archie characters dealing with romance, school, and family issues. It primarily centers on Archie Andrews' life and experiences as he navigates through the troubled waters of sex, romance, school, and friends.

The 5th season's episodes are currently premiering on The CW every Wednesday and digitally on OTTs on Thursdays.

Riverdale Netflix

The new episodes of Riverdale Season 5 are releasing on Netflix every Thursday internationally, and the season will drop on Netflix US around mid-October. The episodes are available to stream for free the next day on CWTV.com and The CW app.

Riverdale Synopsis

Jason Blossom, one of the wealthy and well-known Blossom twins, gets murdered on American Independence day, July 4. The small town of Riverdale investigates the murder to find out the culprit.

The series begins at the start of a new school year in September. It follows news classmates, new relationships, and unusual discoveries about the day that Jason died. He was the school's golden kid and the town still remorse his demise.

The all-American youngster Archie Andrews is the protagonist of Riverdale, around whom mostly the series revolves. The summer events inspire him to pursue a career in music. But his friendship with writer Jughead Jones gets strained, and singer Josie McCoy gets preoccupied with her own band. This leaves Archie without a mentor.

For Archie, things appear turning around, but after an evident connection between the new student, Veronica Lodge, Archie brews into instant chemistry. However, to avoid risking her friendship with the girl-next-door Betty Cooper, who also has a crush on Archie, Veronica is hesitant to disclose her true feelings for him.

Cheryl Blossom, Jason's twin and Riverdale's Queen Bee cum troublemaker, enjoys causing havoc among Archie, Betty, and Veronica. She keeps her own secrets hidden. The parents, on the other hand, have their own hidden dark secrets. Riverdale may appear to be a peaceful, placid hamlet, but danger lurks in the shadows.

Will there be a season 6?

The CW network renewed Riverdale for a season 6 in early 2021. The premiere of the fifth season is still in continuation. Riverdale Season 6 will debut on The CW on Tuesday, November 16.
