Cobra Kai is an American martial arts comedy-drama series. It is a sequel to The Karate Kid films by Robert Mark Kamen. The show continues after 34 years from where the films left. The first season has the tagline - The Karate Kid Saga Continues. The show creators are Josh Heald, Jon Hurwitz, and Hayden Schlossberg. The series first premiered on YouTube Red in 2018.
The series picks the ‘Miyagi Verse’ narrative from Johnny’s perspective. Years after losing the All Valley Karate Championship, he reopens the Cobra Kai karate dojo, and the old rivalry with Daniel rejuvenates.
The Karate Kid
The Karate Kid is an American media franchise created by Robert Mark Kamen. It was released as a tetralogy between 1984 to 1994. It was a huge success at the box office. The series follows the coming-of-age journey of various teenagers being bullied in school. A mentor aids them, teaching them martial arts.
Cobra Kai YouTube Red
YouTube Red was the first original streaming platform of the series. The series was initially released in 2018, followed by season 2 in 2019 on YouTube Premium.
Cobra Kai Netflix
After completing the third season’s production, YouTube stopped producing original scripted programming, leaving the show without a platform. Subsequently, Netflix acquired the show in June 2020 and released the first two seasons on August 28, 2020. The third season dropped on the streaming giant on January 1, 2021.
Cobra Kai Season 4 Release
On August 5, the official Twitter handle of the series announced that the fourth season will premiere in December 2021.

The date is yet to be released by Netflix. To fans’ amazement, Netflix renewed the Karate Kid spin-off for a fifth season, ahead of season 4th release.

Cobra Kai Season 4 Synopsis
Season 4 will focus on the Miyagi-Do and Eagle Fang dojos joining forces to take down Cobra Kai at the All Valley Under 18 Karate Tournament, with the loser requiring to shut their business for good. As Samantha and Miguel try to maintain the dojo alliance and Robby and Tory go all in at Cobra Kai, as this is for bragging rights of the dojos.
Kreese has some tricks up his sleeve, quite influential ones, for that matter. This will require Daniel and Johnny to completely bury their hatchet to defeat Kreese and an old friend of his. Will they succeed, or will Cobra Kai become the face of karate in the valley?

The new season will feature all prime faces, including Ralph Macchio as Daniel LaRusso and William Zabka as Johnny Lawrence, alongside their star students Sam LaRusso (Mary Mouser), Miguel (Xolo Maridueña), Tory Nichols (Peyton List), John Kreese (Martin Kove) and Terry Silver (Thomas Ian Griffith).

The series won Legacy Award from Hollywood Critics Association for 2021. Furthermore, the show has secured multiple Primetime Emmy nominations, including the Outstanding Comedy Series.
