Black Mirror: Synopsis, Cast, Trailers, Awards, Release Dates
Black Mirror is a British anthology TV series created by Charlie Brooker. It follows stand-alone dramas about techno-paranoia that are snappy, unsettling, suspenseful, and satirical. A type of speculative fiction, it explores multiple genres around near-future dystopia being caused by technology. It is said to be a modern reimagining of "The Twilight Zone" (a classic sci-fi TV show created by Rod Serling).
Black Mirror Netflix
The first two seasons and the special "White Christmas" initially aired on British Channel 4. Netflix bought the streaming rights from the channel for the first two series and got into agreements with Brooker to make more episodes of the show after winning the bidding war. Three further series and a movie from the franchise were made that streamed exclusively on Netflix.
Black Mirror Synopsis
Black Mirror features stories that touch upon a general sense of disquiet and discomfort about the modern tech-driven world, particularly the repercussions of new technologies and their impact on society and individuals.
Black Mirror, set in a world only minutes from our own, explores how modern technologies might backfire and be used against their creators. Each episode takes place in a slightly different reality, with different protagonists battling different sorts of technology. Each story features its own cast of unique characters.
Black Mirror: Bandersnatch
Bandersnatch is an interactive film from the Black Mirror anthology. It was written by Charlie Brooker, the creator of the series, and directed by David Slade. The film premiered on Netflix on December 28, 2018.
Is Black Mirror making a season 6?
Brooker and Jones left House of Tomorrow to form their own production company, Broke and Bones. The intellectual property rights of the series lie with Endemol. As per an interview with RadioTimes, Brooker has now been working on more comedic projects. In such circumstances, it is highly uncertain whether Black Mirror will have another season anytime soon.
