Shadow and Bone season 2 will not be on the popular streaming platform Netflix in June 2021, as expected.

Shadow and Bone is a Netflix Original action-adventure series that debuted in April 2021. The fans have adored the series ever since the release. Therefore, they’re already waiting for a second season of Shadow and Bone on Netflix. The official announcement for the second season has yet to be done, but we’re almost sure that Netflix is going to renew Shadow and Bone for season 2. However, it’s not going to premiere in June 2021.

As we earlier said, Netflix hasn’t officially confirmed the second season yet. Given the popularity of Shadow and Bone and the feasibility of the storyline, they’re almost sure to announce a new season in no time.

Virtually nobody expects the second season of Shadow and Bone to come to Netflix in June 2021. But we earlier saw Netflix release the two seasons of Who Killed Sara almost consecutively. This sure has raised some hope among the fans, but it’s not going to come true for Shadow and Bone. The second season of Netflix’s popular fantasy series is not on the list of Netflix’s June 2021 releases.

Shadow and Bone is about a young orphan mapmaker Alina Starkov, who accidentally finds out that she can alter the course of the war. Starkov is the only one who can summon light, which makes her play a key role in the conflict.

The story of Shadow and Bone is based on Leigh Bardugo’s novel of the same name, which is the first book of the Grishaverse. There are two more books in the same novel series. Therefore, producers are probably going to base the new seasons on the remaining books of Bardugo.

Though not officially announced, Shadow and Bone season 2 is reported by various sources to have been renewed. As a result of that, we expect Netflix to make that renewal public in no time.

The popular streaming platform generally announces the renewal news after about a month following the release. Shadow and Bone first aired on Netflix on April 23rd, so they can announce the second season anytime.

Let’s say Netflix renews Shadow and Bone season 2. When can we expect it to air?

The filming process first season of Shadow and Bone took around 5 months (October 2019 – February 2020). The pandemic slowed down the post-production process, and the first season aired on April 2021.

If they start filming the second season around July 2021, it’ll probably conclude in November 2021, presuming that the seasons are the same in terms of length. Add the post-production process with less effect by the pandemic, we can expect Shadow and Bone season 2 to be released on Netflix in early-mid 2022.

There’s nothing official though, so everything we’re talking about is pure speculation at this time.
