Everyone still talks about Bridgerton even if it’s been two months since its release. The TV show became the biggest show ever with a record of 82 million households around the world on Netflix. So we shouldn’t be so surprised by the fact that it also protects its place on the Top 10 lists. Since it seems all of us loved this series so much, we want to share other Bridgerton-like romantic drama series and movies you might also love on Netflix.

Obviously. If you’re looking for another historical romantic drama with a bit of a twist, my first recommendation would be Outlander.

The series based on the best-selling novels by Diana Gabaldon. Claire Randall finds her soulmate during her time travel back in time to 1743 from the post World War II 1940s. But it doesn’t take long that her old life calls her. Can they last their relationship even in different timelines when she goes back home?

If you enjoyed while watching Bridgeton, a Jane Austen adaptation could make even a better impression. If I consider you as an inveterate romantic, it gets even the best.

Jane Austen was an English novelist. She wrote romantic dramas during the early nineteenth century and most of them have become cult. So they actually set in the same timeline as Bridgerton. They also belong to the same high-society world. And Pride & Prejudice is one of the most famous works of all Austen’s novels.

Mr. Bennet is an English gentleman living in Hertfordshire with his overbearing wife and 5 daughters. If Mr. Bennet dies their house will be inherited by a distant cousin whom they have never met, so the family’s future happiness and security depend on the daughters making good marriages. Sounds familiar?

Lady J sets in 18th-century France. And the movie includes high-society relationships with the ins and outs just like Bridgerton.

A young and pretty widow Madame de La Pommeraye ends up yielding to the advances of the Marquis des Arcis after he convinces her diligently and obsessively for love. Arcis is also well-known for his libertinism. So it won’t be a shocker that he gets away in time and breaks her heart. Madame de La Pommeraye hurts deeply and she starts to plot revenge after all.

Anna Karenina is a vast tale of romance, infidelity, and reputation based on the cult Russian novel by Leo Tolstoy. The story follows the tragedy of Russian aristocrat and socialite Anna Karenina. She is the wife of senior statesman Alexei Karenin and she gets involved in an affair with the affluent cavalry officer Count Vronsky.

This French romantic drama series set in 1897 Paris and might sweep you away with its multi-character storylines. The series begins with the depiction of a true event, the fire at the Bazar de la Charité in Paris, May 4, 1897, in which 126 people died.

While Adrienne’s niece, Alice de Jeansin, along with her close confidant and maidservant, Rose Rivière, attend the bazaar the fire breaks out. Adrienne had entered the event earlier but left to meet her paramour. So she realizes in horror after that she could have been inside, too. From there the plot revolves around the aftermath of the conflagration and the lives of the three women. Their destinies change completely.

As a romantic drama series, Reign follows a fictionalized version of Mary, Queen of Scots’ life. The series has plenty of sexy scenes to make any romantic swoon. It also has love-triangles, intrigues, lies, and much more just like Bridgerton. Besides them, Reign also has politics, wars, and throne games with a strong woman motif.

If you have craved for more high society, political drama, and British accents, I gladly suggest The Crown.

It can seem a little less fun than Bridgerton, that I would agree. But this doesn’t change the fact that once you start to watch, you won’t be able to stop. The Crown portrays the life of Queen Elizabeth II from her wedding in 1947 to Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, until the early 21st century.

Rebecca is a beloved classic from Daphne du Maurier’s same-named novel. It’s a romantic psychological thriller film and you have 2 options to watch it. One of the options is the old one which directed by Alfred Hitchcock, and the other one is Netflix’s new adaptation for it. Although Hitchcock’s one is a cult and still the better version, the Netflix remake is a little sexier and more alive. It’s up to you to choose how you watch it, but we strongly suggest you do it somehow.

The movie based on the same-named novel of Mary Ann Shaffer and Annie Barrows. Netflix’s new romantic drama adaptation of the novel where characters write letters to each other brings to the story a unique and romantic telling style. The movie is not that sliding as Bridgerton. Its tempo might come slow to you, but you shouldn’t be worried about that. Because it will be dragging you along the whole way! And probably will make you cry, too! Don’t say didn’t warn you. But in my opinion, it’s one of the must be seen movies ever.

One of Netflix’s period drama series is based on the 1908 novel named Anne of Green Gables by Lucy Maud Montgomery. The story revolves around an orphan girl, Anne. She is a warm and excitable girl and adopted by a farm family. Anne faces against all odds and many challenges, as she fights for love and acceptance and her place in the world.

The series is completed and have currently 3 seasons on Netflix.

After the death of her father, a young Spanish woman discovers a partial letter. So she travels to an island to search for the answers. While she was unfolding the secrets of her family in Africa, she also meets a gay and fall in love with him, who might be considered as forbidden.

A fresh adaptation of a beloved romantic drama 1910 same-named novel by E. M. Forster is telling about two sisters, as they navigate through life and love. Just like Bridgerton, Howards End includes secrets and scandals, class, prejudice, especially lots of romance, and much more. But you should be ready to clear your mind since the world you are about to go in is a little bit ‘complicated’.

Howards End examines “the changing landscape of social and class divisions in turn-of-the-century England through the prism of three families: the intellectual and idealistic Schlegels, the wealthy Wilcoxes from the world of business, and the working-class Basts.”

Of course, we had to add The Other Boleyn Girl to our list. As its beloved novel, this movie is one of the bests and it also stars Natalie Portman. Two beautiful sisters, Anne and Mary Boleyn are driven by their family’s blind ambition to the handsome king’s feet. But which one of them will win? A war between two sisters, love, palace intrigues, betrayal, survival, and more is waiting for you!

Another cult movie The Age of Innocence is a romantic drama adaptation of the 1920 same-named novel. The story revolves around a tale of nineteenth-century New York high society in which a young lawyer falls in love with a woman separated from her husband, while he is engaged to the woman’s cousin. So his well-ordered life gets upset when he meets May’s unconventional cousin, Countess Olenska.

Just like Bridgerton, there are complicated human relations and scandals involved in love and more. Why don’t we get a little nostalgia after all?

Based on Jane Austen’s 1811 same-named novel, Sense and Sensibility is also another good way to get a little nostalgic. The romantic drama follows the Dashwood sisters, members of a wealthy English family of the landed gentry. They must deal with circumstances of sudden destitution. So they are forced to seek financial security through marriage.
