There are only a handful of comedians that can play around with dark humor as beautifully and effectively as Ricky Gervais does. And it looks like the British comedian is once again on a mission to prove exactly that. Following the immense success of his first Netflix special, Ricky Gervais: Humanity, he is coming back with another special this May.

The special is titled, Ricky Gervais: Supernature and will feature the comedian talking about the rules of comedy. Along with the announcement of the comedy special, a short clip was shared as well. In the clip we see Gervais talk about irony while using some classic sexism to explain it to the audience. Here is everything that you need to know about the special and the promo clip.

The premise of the special, SuperNature is basically Gervais trying to elaborate the rules of comedy for us. And irony, being one of the primary tools for comedy, is a topic he touches upon. The one thing he teaches about irony is that, when one has to be funny, they say or instigate things and the audience laughs at those things because they know what the right thing is.

He says how there are so many female comedians who are funny. But at the very next moment, instead of taking the names of a few of his contemporaries like Tiffany HaddishAli Wong, or Kate McKinnon, he just goes blank in front of the crowd. Thus using irony to get a laugh from the audience.

The special will see Gervais talk about a lot of other things as well. He talks about his cat and how he spoils it and smashes the supernatural. The Office star believes that nature is super enough. This comedy special is releasing following Ricky Gervais’ tour of the same name. It would be really interesting to see Gervais once again in action.
