Resident Evil season 1 coming soon to Netflix. Now, the bestselling horror video game franchise series turns a live-action TV show.

After the first production on the project, Netflix announced on August 27th, 2020, that the scripted live-action series. This series also in active development by Supernatural‘s producer and co-showrunner Andrew Dabb. Resident Evil is the new Netflix Original series based on the Capcom game company’s same title franchise series. The franchise beginning in 1996 has spawned plenty of video game production, novels, and a horror film franchise.

When the productions kick-off for Resident Evil season 1?

Netflix can’t release anything until August 27th, 2020. But a few days ago, they shared the first details on their official NXonNetflix account.

Here’s the official description:

“Resident Evil will follow a new story across two timelines: In the first timeline, fourteen-year-old sisters Jade and Billie Wesker are moved to New Raccoon City. A manufactured, corporate town, forced on them right as adolescence is in full swing. But the more time they spend there, the more they come to realize that the town is more than it seems and their father may be concealing dark secrets. Secrets that could destroy the world.

Cut to the second timeline, well over a decade into the future: there are less than fifteen million people left on Earth. And more than six billion monsters — people and animals infected with the T-virus. Jade, now thirty, struggles to survive in this New World, while the secrets from her past – about her sister, her father, and herself – continue to haunt her.”

Normally the series filming in March but due to pandemic delayed to October or November. Also, season 1 will consist of brand new 8 episodes (1 hour long). Resident Evil season 1 will be available on Netflix in sometime 2021. Check out the 2002 film trailer below.
