Netflix has shared the first minutes of the upcoming Resident Evil: Infinite Darkness. The release date is also revealed.

Resident Evil: Infinite Darkness is one of the most anticipated series on the platform. Fans of the Resident Evil franchise were curious about the animated series. Netflix announced the CGI series back in 2020 during Tokyo Game Show.

The series takes place on a timeline between Resident Evil 4 and Resident Evil 5. The leading characters of the animated series are Clarie Redfield and Leon S. Kennedy. These two are some of the most iconic characters in the franchise. Claire and Leon are also quite known in the video game community.

When will the animated Resident Evil series land on Netflix?

Netflix has scheduled the release of the CGI series Resident Evil: Infinite Darkness this year. The official premiere date of the series is July 8, 2021.

The horror-thriller video game depicts a post-apocalyptic world filled with infected people. There are also people who remained healthy. Though the world has changed and now they have to survive in this constant nightmare.

The animation series is produced by TMS Entertainment. Quebico Studios have created the animations and Yugo Kanno served as the composer. The director of the long-awaited CG series is Eiichiro Hasumi.

The voice actors and actresses of the series have served in the video game series as well. So we are not going to feel strange as the characters look like they came out from the video games. Here’s the main cast of the upcoming title:

The three minutes-long clip has hit the official YouTube channel of Netflix. The bit from the upcoming animated series takes viewers on a journey to Penamstan during the outbreak. As USA base headquarters evaluate the situation, we watch a unit of soldiers landing in the city center and fighting against mysterious attackers.

The streaming giant has shared the official trailer three weeks ago. Unlike the opening clip, this video consists of different parts taken from the episodes.

Though we should also note that this is not the only Resident Evil adaptation we are going to see this year. A movie named Resident Evil: Welcome to Racoon City will also arrive in 2021. Although the release date is November 24, we do not have any information regarding the movie and its availability on Netflix.

Johannes Roberts is the director and the writer of the anticipated movie. Yet again, the project might not land on Netflix when it launches. But the streaming service might license the film in the future to make it available for its subscribers. The current distributor of Welcome to Racoon City is Sony Pictures.

That’s not so bad though, as we already have a cool CGI series that will probably be great. And July 8 is pretty close if you ask us.
