The Oscar ceremony was a jam-packed show of star-power, and many celebrities left their mark on the stage with their display of talent. Throughout the 4-hour-long suspense show, there were several high points of the event starting from the iconic ‘I’m Just Ken’ performance by Ryan Gosling, Oppenheimer’s clean sweep, Guillermo Rodriguez’s iconic toast, and Messi the Dog’s clap. However, for Jimmy Kimmel, nothing stood out in front of one famous A-lister when he took the stage.

For Kimmel to choose this over others may have a face value, but by all indications, the preference might lean on its comic value.

When the host of the 96th Oscars, Jimmy Kimmel, took the stage, the strategic delivery of laughter pills kept fans on their toes throughout the ceremony. But even Kimmel’s comic sense did not emerge superior, as his “favorite” moment from the Oscar ceremony was the one concerning Arnold Schwarzenegger. Hence, on his latest episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live, he explicitly crowned the moment Schwarzenegger pronounced “Godzilla” in his dense Austrian accent.

Replaying the clip from the show, Kimmel could not help but unleash his witty quips about it. For him, the word sounded somewhat like “half Godzilla, half lasagna”. Keeping a continuance to his witty throws, he even added how it could be a “great movie by the way” to have something aboard like “Godzilla vs. Lasagna”. While he also added the floating envelope incident and Al Pacino’s helming the stage for the Best Picture announcement, his excitement for the Schwarzenegger part clearly gave the nod for his preference.

Of course, his pick is quite understandable when he plays the clip on repeat with the hilarious background commentary, but for the attendees, the most treasured moment would have been Kimmel’s calling out of the Oscar voters.

Last night at the Oscars, many dreams were broken, but a dream that fumbled before gracing the stage was Barbie. Although a lot of backlash has come in front due to Greta Gerwig and Margot Robbie’s nomination snubs, Kimmel stored his reserve of anger for an Oscar unveiling. Hence, getting straight to the point, he called out every voter who felt they “didn’t have anything to do with” the snubs.

Initially, he began by thanking Gerwig, who many people thought was deserving of the nomination. As supporters began to applaud his gesture, he quickly took an about-turn to address the same clap of hands that “didn’t vote for her”. It seems like Kimmel took the snub quite personally, recalling his confession about how Barbie was a motivator for him to host this season. All of this makes his hard feelings about the Oscar voters not sound all that baseless.
