Hours Ahead of the Oscars, Josh Ryder Shares a Good Luck Message for Lily Gladstone
Lily Gladstone made history at the Golden Globes earlier this year. Now, she once again has a shot at being the first Native American to win an Oscar Award. The actress may have been in the industry for just over a decade. However, it was not until Martin Scorsese’s Killers of the Flower Moon that the 37-year-old landed her first opportunity to bag the esteemed award.
Now, just hours ahead of the 96th annual Academy Awards, Josh Ryder, a classmate of the actress’ from Mountlake Terrace High School, shared a special message for her from her hometown.

In a post on X (formerly Twitter), it was revealed that Josh Ryder had wished Lily Gladstone luck ahead of the Oscar ceremony. He was a fellow actor and classmate of the star. The video started with him holding up his yearbook from Mountlake Terrace High School. It featured a picture of him and the Academy Award-nominated actress, with the words, “Most likely to win an Oscar” written above it.
The 2004 high school graduate went on to wish Gladstone luck for her big night “no matter what happens.” Ryder also reassured the star by saying everyone was proud of her. After all, the 37-year-old was at a pivotal moment in history with her being the first-ever Native American to be up for an Oscar. While it could be a historical milestone for the actress, another talented star could steal it away.
With the actress going up against Emma Stone for her role in Poor Things and Carey Mulligan for Maestro, there is no saying what could happen.

Last year, Lily Gladstone took over the world with her role in Killers of the Flower Moon. Her co-star, Leonardo DiCaprio, was overlooked at the Academy Awards, but the 37-year-old was thankfully not ignored. She ended up landing a nomination for Best Actress in a Leading Role. However, she was joined by Emma Stone, Carey Mulligan, Sandra Hüller, and Annette Bening.
Stone has been dominating the awards circuit with her performance in Poor Things. However, Gladstone surprisingly bagged the same award at the Golden Globes. She may have a chance to make history once again, but there is no guarantee given the success of the 35-year-old’s film.
