Beloved Eiichiro Oda’s manga, One piece is receiving a Netflix adaptation. The streamer confirmed the casting for the main characters in November 2021 and has just now announced its second batch of cast members. 

Filming is already underway and the second batch of actors will be joining the main leads in Cape Town in South Africa. The previously mentioned cast includes Iñaki Godoy, Mackenyu, Jacob Gibson, Emily Rudd, and Taz Skylar. 

Here are the new additions: 

Ilia Isorelys Paulino as Alvida 

Alvida better known as Iron Mace is the ex-captain of the Alvida Pirates. The antagonist of the series, she will stir up a lot of trouble for Luffy in his adventures. You have seen Paulino in Me Time. 

Vincent Regan as Garp

Garp is a tall muscular man in One Piece. Known as Garp the Fist, he is a Marine Vice Admiral. Garp is also referred to as Monkey D several times throughout One Piece. He has appeared in 300 and Troy.

Aidan Scott as Helmeppo

The Action Point star will be playing lanky Helmeppo in the Netflix adaptation. He is the son of Axe-Hand, an ex-Marine Captain. Helmeppo is also a marine officer.

McKinley Belcher III as Arlong

McKinley will embody the role of Arlong who is a sawshark fish man. Arlong was once part of the Sun Pirates before becoming a part of the Arlong Pirate Group. The manga introduces the character much later in the series.  You have seen the actor in Ozark and The Good Lord Bird.

Morgan Davies as Koby 

Previously an Alvida pirate, Koby is now a Marine Captain in the Marine Special forces unit SWORD. The actor has previously starred in The Evil Dead: Rise.

Jeff Ward as Buggy

Buggy, also known as the Star Clown in the anime, is the Buggy pirate’s captain. He has the appearance of a clown with blue hair and a red nose. Jeff Ward’s acting credits include Hacks and Brand New Cherry Flavor.

Showrunner Steven updated the fans on the development of the Netflix show: One Piece

The cast and the crew arrived on the sets of the show in South Africa to begin filming the series on January 31. Showrunner Steve Maeda dropped an update for the fans of the anime on his Twitter handle. 

Tomorrow Studios is producing the show in partnership with Netflix.
