The number of new customers that Obi-Wan and Stranger Things can attract for their respective services is far more important than any other criteria.

Following Netflix’s awful Q1 and all that followed, executives will likely be hoping that Stranger Things may help the firm beat its grim Q2 estimate, which expected a two million-plus membership loss.

Meanwhile, Disney is attempting to avoid a similar fate by maintaining Disney+‘s strong growth trajectory and demonstrating that it can reach 250 million users by 2024.  Expect to hear Obi-Wan and Stranger Things mentioned several times when the firms release their next quarterly results, especially if the results are positive.

Both shows have an intense fan following

There is no doubt that both the shows in question have one of the biggest fandoms in the world. Stranger Things fans literally broke the internet upon the new season’s release. And as for Obi-Wan, fans of the character and the Star Wars series span well over two decades and have only grown since.

In fact, the Star Wars fan base grew even larger when The Mandalorian started streaming. It broke the 10 billion viewing record for Disney. But it also raises the question of how more Star Wars fans will subscribe to the OTT platform, as almost all are already subscribing to it.

To say which show will do better or which show will fetch more subscribers is hard to say right now. Both the shows have been streaming for less than a week now and have a long way to go before results can be declared.

However, one thing is for certain fans of both the franchises will not miss out on watching the shows. Which surely will benefit the streamers.
