The Cuphead game was released back in 2017. The action video game with visuals and humor inspired by the cartoons of the 1930s was very popular among gamers. Furthermore, it also won the best debut indie game and best independent video game at the Game Awards in 2017.

However, the show differs greatly from the game. It does not wipe the player by repaying the debt owed by the devil. Whereas the show will focus more on the adventures and thrills that may or may not be hijacked by some devilish deeds by the Devil.
