Netflix originals are getting better and better each day. Netflix Originals are something that makes the streaming giant triumphant over its contenders. The shows are refreshing, powerful, and very well written. One of the recent entries to this long list of brilliant shows is Inventing Anna, and the fans just can’t get enough of it. Here is our take on whether the popular show will be getting a season 2.
Inventing Anna—What’s the show about
The show first started streaming on Netflix and gained popularity for electrifying and high-paced acting from Julia Garner, who plays the titular role of Anna. Shonda Rhimes developed the show based on a New York Times article by Jessica Pressler.
Inventing Anna follows journalist Vivian Kent (played by Anna Chlumsky) as she examines the case of Anna Delvey. A young lady who pretended to be a German heiress to get access to New York’s high society social scene. Vivian Kent finds her intriguing and decides to to write about Anna following her arrest on multiple charges of theft of services and grand larceny.
While waiting for her trial, Vivian visits Anna in jail and learns how the youthful 25-year-old tricked friends, corporations, and the New York elite out of significant sums of money.
Everything we know about Inventing Anna season 2
As soon as the last episode of the nine-episode long show ended, fans started wanting more. However, it is implausible that the show will get a new season.
Apart from being a limited series, it is also a short series based on actual events.
Even though the story of Anna Delvey aka Anna Sorokin, is completely told, there is still some chance meager that Netflix might give us more stories about Sorokin. Recently, Sorokin was released from prison in February 2021 and transferred to ICE’s custody. A new series can cover the six weeks after her release and moving to ICE. Or a new series can focus on the affects of Inventing Anna’s release on Sorokin’s life and the sudden attention she is getting.
But it feels like a one-time deal.
