Netflix recently teased fans with just a sneak peek of Jason Momoa in his upcoming film Slumberland. Jason Momoa appears with a pair of horns, which gives the fans an impression of outlaw character Flip in the film. Slumberland is an upcoming American fantasy-adventure film directed by Francis Lawrence, starring Jason Momoa, Weruche Opia, India de Beaufort, and Kyle Chandler. The comic book series titled Little Nemo in Slumberland by Winsor McCay inspired this film.

Netflix has recently released a video, which comprises the first look of all the films coming to the platform in 2022. One of them is Slumberland. In the video, Momoa says he is taking the viewers to a fantasy land, where they could not dream of.

Slumberland release date

Netflix still hasn’t officially confirmed the release date of Slumberland. However, we are very sure, it will release sometime in 2022.

Official synopsis

Slumberland is a Netflix fantasy family film that sees Jason Momoa as Flip, a 9-foot human hybrid. The 11-year-old Nema played by Marlow Barkley travels to a world of dreams, fantasy, and nightmares with a secret map. With Flip, Nema moves through Slumberland in search of her lost father.

Development of the film

The new film is the second adaptation of the 1989 McKay’s comic series. The first one was Little Nemo: Adventures in Slumberland with an A-list cast, including George Lucas, Brad Bird, Chris Columbus, and many more. The film  received a lot of positive reviews from critics but is not so popular among the audience.

The film just earned t $11.4 million with a budget of $35 million. A lot of attempts have been tried to reimagine Little Nemo’s world. But no one ever succeeded in making a perfect Little Nemo: Adventures in Slumberland.

Being an upcoming Netflix adaptation, and with Jason Momoa’s skills, we are sure that it will be a huge blockbuster this time.
