The sizzled on-screen erotic thriller of Maite Perroni and Alejandro Speitzer on Dark Desire became a global blockbuster show after it release its Season 1 on Netflix. Season 1 of Dark Desire has become the most-watched debut season of a non-English show in Netflix’s history. So, after a long wait, Season 2 is finally here, knocking at our doors.

The show has become the sixth most-watched show on Netflix in July 2020 and the second most-watched show in August 2020, after The Umbrella Academy. Netflix has already announced the date of release of Season 2 in 2022, which will take us on the journey of love, betrayal, obsession, and murder. Unfortunately, season 2 will be the last and final season of Netflix’s Dark Desire.

The plot develops around a law professor, Alma Solares, who recently found that her husband is cheating on her. Therefore, she gets involved in an adulterous relationship with a 25-year-old man, but this fling has become the most regretful decision of her life. The fling leads to tragic consequences, ending in a cliffhanger.

Netflix has officially confirmed the release date of Dark Desire Season 2. Season 2 is all set to premiere globally on Netflix on February 2nd, 2022. 

Francisco Ramos, VP of Latin America Originals at Netflix claims there will be a new slate of Mexican original productions. He explains, “new productions symbolize Mexico’s immense importance to us as well as our subscribers’ appetite for Mexican stories both locally and abroad, as evidenced by the global success of Dark Desire and Control Z. Stories unite us, and we need that now more than ever.”

What to expect from season 2?

Season 2 will focus on two of the most popular questions from viewers. The first one is who actually killed Brenda, or did she commit suicide? Another one is what will be Dario’s next step as he survived the factory fire?

After the trailer, it is clear that the cast includes Maite Perroni, Alejandro Speitzer, Erik Hayser, Jorge Poza, Regina Pavón, and María Fernanda Yepes.

This will be the final season of Dark Desire. There will be no Season 3, as confirmed by Netflix.
