Tick, Tick… Boom! has certainly received all the love from fans this year. Being nominated for the Best Actor award, Andrew Garfield wrote a personal note to The Academy, expressing his gratitude to everyone that made the film what it is. Long-time fans of the actor know just how eloquent he is, but we still did not expect to read phrases like “thank you for keeping (Jonathan Larson’s) songs reverberating through our universe.”
What other awards have Andrew Garfield and Tick, Tick… Boom! been nominated for?
We all know very well how Andrew Garfield isn’t a newcomer to the acting industry, nor is this his first time making a mark at the Academy Awards. The character Garfield plays in Hacksaw Ridge, Desmond Doss, received a Medal of Honour for service above and beyond the call of duty. For his portrayal of the same, Andrew received endless critical acclaim and a nomination in the category of Best Actor at the 89th Academy Awards.
As for his performance in Tick, Tick… Boom!, Garfield has taken home the Golden Globe award for Best Actor in a Motion Picture- Musical or Comedy.
