Netflix is working on the production of a new teen-vampire series, First Kill. What do we know about the series so far?

Until a few years ago, adolescent vampire TV series and movies were very popular. I think Netflix wants to revive this culture because there are quite many people who read teen-vampire books and admire their productions. There will be a book adaptation in First Kill, which will be a Netflix Originals production.

First Kill is a novel written and created by V. E. Schwab. Netflix had announced that it would adopt this book as original production and create a series as a youth drama. For those who want to read the original version of the book, the proper name of the book is Vampires Never Get Old: Tales with Fresh Bite.

Netflix has not yet announced the cast of the series, but Felicia D. Henderson, who has previously worked in TV series like Empire, Gossip Girl, and The Punisher, will be the showrunner of the First Kill. Henderson will also serve as a writer and executive producer.

Emma Roberts and Karah Preiss serve as executive producers through Belletrist Productions. It is not yet certain that Emma Roberts will also star in the series.

Young Juliette must kill someone to be accepted into a powerful vampire family. Problems arise when Juliette stares at the new girl in the town of Calliope when Calliope turns out to be from a family of respected vampire hunters. Both the vampire and the hunter soon learn that killing the other is not that easy, but falling down is very easy.

Netflix has not yet announced an official release date, but we know how many episodes and minutes of the first season will be. A date marked as April 5, 2021, on Netflix’s calendar may indicate shooting will begin in Spring.

It has been confirmed that the first season of First Kill will have eight episodes in total. Each episode is confirmed to have a run time of approximately 60 minutes.
