Here we are in May, the Mental Health Awareness month again. We have listed some mental health shows on Netflix that you can watch.
May is the Mental Awareness Month in which people raise awareness for people struggling with mental issues. Many people still are not familiar with the concept and mental disorders are still seen as a stigma in many parts of the world. Therefore, we should do our best to educate those who do not know enough about this topic.

Shows about mental health on Netflix
The Umbrella Academy is a series about the relationship between seven siblings who reunite to solve the mystery of their father’s death. It touches on some mental disorders such as narcissism and APD as a result of childhood traumas.
It’s Okay That’s Love is a Korean drama telling of the relationship of a novelist and a psychiatrist. We see some disorders like schizophrenia portrayed accurately in the series. It also shows us two people with mental disorders can live a fully functional life.
Bojack Horseman is a brilliant and deeply effective animated series telling about a horse trying to deal with depression. It also accurately portrays what many people go through, as the viewers report.
Mad World is about a man who is recovering from bipolar disorder and trying to reconnect with his dad after leaving a psychiatric hospital. This Japanese movie touches on how hard it is to have mental disorders in conservative communities.

This is a movie about a man who ends up in a psychiatric hospital after experiencing a breakdown. He cannot fully recover after being released and has mental outrages occasionally. He meets a woman just like him, with whom he forms a unique bond.

Atypical is a comedy-drama series on Netflix. It tells the story of Sam, who struggles with autism, trying to find love. The series portrays the in-house relationships of people with autism.

Spinning Out is a series about a figure skating Olympic hopeful’s struggle to balance love, family, and fragile mental health as her dream of winning takes a dizzying hold.
