‘The Witcher’ Showrunner Lauren Hissrich Dispels The “Rumor” About Ciri’s Blood Line
Princess Cirilla of Cintra is not who you think she is! The Witcher showrunner Lauren Hissrich Seems to have grander plans than appears to be for the Netflix fantasy series. Ever since volume 1 of Season 3 made its debut, fans have either become enthusiastic about the show once again or have lost their patience, once and all. However, many revelations have paved the way for a lot of questions. While a few revolve around the future of the White Wolf post Henry Cavill‘s exit, others trace back to the lineage of Cirilla’s dynasty and her bloodline.
A few rumors were seemingly jugging about Ciri’s bloodline after the prequel series, The Witcher: Blood Origin, shed some light on the origin of Witchers . Sure, the conjunction of Spheres had a lot going on but one important takeaway from the prequel was shapeshifting Seanchai’s prophecy- “The Lark’s seed” (Eile and Fjall, the first prototype of the witchers, would begin a new bloodline) and “one of her bloods shall sing the last (song).”

Now it is quite likely for many to think that Geralt’s child surprise is somehow related to this prophecy. But it seems like that is not the case. In a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly, Hissrich apparently dismissed the “rumor.” She stated that although it may appear as if Ciri is related to the Lark, “that’s not the case. So we can dispel that rumor right now.” Furthermore, she also hinted that it is a “little hidden gem,” and they have “other things brewing with that.”
So what exactly the prophecy could be talking about?
If not Cirilla, who is prophesied in The Witcher prequel as Eile’s last bloodline?
While we do not know the exact answer to this, and now that the showrunner has dismissed the most probable rumor; there could be a few characters fitting right in. The very first is the fan-favorite bard, aka Jaskier. Well, if we do take the prophecy in the literal sense and consider that Lark herself was a bard, then one of the Jaskier’s songs might as well be the last lore to lull the Continent.

Another potential character can be Geralt himself, as Fjall was the prototype of the Witchers. It was through him that the entire White Wolf’s lineage came into being. However, nothing is concrete for now and all we can do is speculate while Hissrich and the team unravel the truth with every upcoming season.
