Stranger Things has given the world a lot of iconic moments and memorials. Apart from one of the best action moments, the show has numerous wardrobes and hairstyles that have now become insanely popular. But one of the most popular things since the show’s first season has to be the 011 tattoo of Eleven.
Copying the tattoo of your favorite character is something that has been going around for decades now. In fact, fans of the shows get a tattoo of the character or something that represents their character as soon as they develop a likeness for them. But people now are copying the 011 tattoo, and it isn’t something that should be done.
Read along to find out how the tattoo represents one of the darkest periods in the history of humankind.
Why shouldn’t you get the 011 tattooed from Stranger Things?
The tattoos seen in Stranger Things were supposed to be blatant references to the dehumanization of Jews during the Holocaust. And the program is well aware of this. Because Eleven is merely one of many subjects at the Hawkins lab, and she is assigned a number rather than a name.
Despite his somewhat kind demeanor, Dr. Brenner had little interest in Eleven, Kali, or any of the other orphans beyond their ability. She was deprived of both her hair and her freedom, as well as the name her mother had given her.
they werent deemed significant enough TO have one. they were instead referred to as a number only. it was also used to identify dead bodies for their records. there were different numbering sequences that meant different things such as specific ethnic groups pic.twitter.com/x18mb1azJZ

This isn’t the first time the show has drawn a Nazi connection. The Russian Jail sequences in Season 4 were shot in a former Nazi prison in Lithuania.
While many other fandoms around the world have gotten something from their favorite shows’ tattoos. For example, the Deathly Hallows from the Harry Potter franchise. Or the LOTR Elvish tattoo.
Tattoos from Stranger Things are specifically meant to evoke the dehumanization of Jews during the Holocaust.
At the end of the day, a tattoo is a personal choice, and one can get whatever they want. But the real reason and symbol behind it should be known to all.
What do you guys think? Is the tattoo still a good choice or not? Share your opinion with us in the comments.
