After the announcement of the exit of their favorite Witcher, Henry Cavill, the whole fandom is sad. However, the streaming giant is coming up with a live-action spin-off of The Witcher before the 4th season arrives. While fans are waiting to see Cavill as Witcher for the last time in season 3, they reacted against the spin-off.
Season 3 of The Witcher is in the post-production stage and will be released in the summer of 2023. Season 3 will see Ciri’s association with a group of young Nilfgaardian misfits called The Rats. Now a new spin-off might primarily focus on The Rats. But because Henry Cavill left the show, this prequel doesn’t really excite fans.

Post-Henry Cavill exit, The Witcher fans are against the spin-off
If you’ve read the book, you would know Cirilla spends a period with The Rats, whom we might see in season 4 of the show as well. However, there is uncertainty about the spin-off being made about The Rats. But before season 3 and season 4, Netflix is planning to land this prequel, which shows there might be the origin story of The Rats. Therefore, to call it a prequel or not, that is the question.
But the intention behind the spin-off is to explore the characters of The Rats, as they are not much loved. So, it makes sense if the makers want to explore more about them before the third season arrives. But fans are not excited about it because of the exit of their favorite Witcher.
Fans think it is a waste of time
Although there might be some readers who would like to see the spin-off, the majority of fans are not interested as they won’t see Geralt of Rivia the same again. This is how they are expressing their feelings about the exit of the English actor and the spin-off as well.
I feel like some book readers would be interested in watching, but with the Witcher audience in general, not many ppl would watch it⚰️just my opinion though

I have to think that after the Henry departure, The Witcher universe on Netflix is going to die. Greenlighting another spinoff is a waste of money. There is zero hype for Blood Origin.
