There are probably many great singers in the world right now. But the talent Billie Eilish has is matched by none. Her ability to express emotion by using music is frankly magical. And thanks to her interview with David Letterman, we also got to learn a lot about how Billie makes music.
She even gave David a tour of how she makes music. But what was even more compelling was how much Billie knew about the artform. The Grammy-winning artist certainly has been in the business of making tunes for far too long and has used all software by now. But she still thinks auto-tune is an amazing way of making music despite the popular belief.
Let us see what the 20-year-old artist had to say.
Billie Eilish loves auto tune
The new season of My Next Guest Needs No Introduction was an amazing one. Every celebrity was as authentic and honest as one could be. But Billie, apart from sharing her struggles and opinions, was actually very informational.
In her episode, she gave the viewers a look into how music is created and made ready for people to listen to. So while Billie and her brother Finneas were showing David a look around at the production of music, David asked Billie a rather important question about her views on using auto-tune.
Billie said that even though many consider auto-tune as something people who can’t sing use. She finds the software an interesting one and something that really elevates the music.
She said, “People decide, Oh My God, that’s terrible, but I’ve always loved the sound of auto-tune. I think it sounds so interesting and creepy.”
Billie then went on to name artists such as Travis Scott, Kanye West, and T-Pain as people who have paved the way for auto-tune as an effect and as a tool. She even mentions that she finds singing with auto-tune fun.
It was really amazing to see Billie Eilish talk about how she makes music and her opinion on the production aspect of it.
