Netflix Originals New Shows Release in May 2021
As we are preparing to finish 2021’s first quarter, Netflix still got its hands full and adding promising content to its library as always. From blockbuster movies to big superhero universes, let’s see which Netflix original shows are ahead of us releasing in May 2021 that Netflix has stated so far.
Netflix doesn’t seem to stop producing well-crafted stories along with already known and beloved ones which are taking us into whole different worlds during watching and gives us thrill in so many ways. No one can’t deny that truth, I think. And their Netflix originals lineup list for May looks very promising and exciting as well, as it seems the streaming platform will make us pass through whole different dimensions. And we have no doubt that we will find really hard to return from them once we get in, considering the dimensions of Netflix we already got in.
So let’s take a look at what is ahead of us in May. But remind that this preview may also change during April as well. So it’s not a complete lineup list yet and Netflix can add or change any detail about the shows which is also familiar to us.

Netflix Originals Movies Schedules in May 2021
Release Date: May 12th
This Netflix original movie is an American-French survival thriller film directed and produced by Alexandre Aja, from a screenplay by Christie LeBlanc. Alexandre Aja is a French film director who you may know for his best works in the horror genre that some of which are High Tension, The Hills Have Eyes (2006), Mirrors (2008), Piranha 3D (2010), Horns (2013), and Crawl (2019).

The Woman in the Window is a psychological thriller movie directed by Joe Wright and its screenplay is written by Tracy Letts. This one of the Netflix original movies is based on the same-named novel by pseudonymous author A. J. Finn. The movie was originally scheduled to be released theatrically but got canceled due to the pandemic and after Netflix bought it. It stars Amy Adams along with Gary Oldman, Anthony Mackie, Fred Hechinger, Wyatt Russell, Brian Tyree Henry, Jennifer Jason Leigh, and Julianne Moore.

Netflix original movie is actually a Belgian series Undercover’s spin-off that aired two seasons from 2019 to 2020. It’s about a ruthless man Ferry Bouman, who is sent to his native region of Brabant by his boss Brink to avenge an attack on their gang.

Here comes Zack Snyder with another blockbuster for Netflix this time. From DC Universe, he’s now jumping into a whole different world filled with zombies. This Netflix original movie is a zombie heist film based on a story, which is written with Shay Hatten and Joby Harold, by Snyder himself. He’s all over it which makes the fans of him wait even more eagerly! It follows a group of mercenaries that are looking to perform a heist during the apocalypse in Las Vegas.

The Divine Ponytail is an Italian biographical film about Italian footballer Roberto Baggio.

Release Date: May 7th
Jupiter’s Legacy is an epic superhero drama, which spans decades and navigates the complex dynamics of family, power, and loyalty. The story of the series will follow old costumed heroes as they look for younger superhumans. This Netflix original series is expected to become a stepping stone for the streaming platform to build its own great Marvel Cinematic Univers-ish franchise with basing on the works of Mark Millar and his “Millarworld.”

This Netflix original sitcom centers on a working-class African American family in Indiana struggling to make it work and make it right without any blueprints.

Here’s another biographical drama Netflix created by Moisés Zamora. It follows the story of Tejano singer Selena’s rise to fame and the sacrifices she and her family must make along the way. The upcoming Netflix originals biography movie has scored really big acclaimed when its first part dropped in early December 2020.

Netflix’s original series Special is finally coming back for its second season. But on the other side, it will also be its final season too, unfortunately. It’s a comedy-drama series focused on disability and LGBTQ and is well-received so far. And soon, its second and last season will land on Netflix along with 8 final expanded episodes. It has a bittersweet story to watch in your chill times. The new season’s trailer hasn’t released yet, but we put first one’s anyway for the ones who might still haven’t watch it and would like to take a look.

The next installment of the Netflix original animated series based on Universal’s Jurassic Park/World franchise. The animated series is set before, during, and after the events of the film Jurassic World and it is coming back for its third season to the streaming platform soon enough.

Release Date: May, the exact day is unknown
Eden has actually been announced long ago and in development for a few years by Fullmetal Alchemist’s director Yasuhiro Irie and Cowboy Bebop’s concept designer Toshihiro Kawamoto. The Netflix original anime is set 1000s of years later now in the future. There are only robots in the future but after a while, a young human girl suddenly comes into their world.
