Netflix Now Brings The Terminator Universe As Anime Series

Netflix has been trying to keep every type of viewer pleased, no can’t deny that. And it also seems to manage it pretty well too, as far as we can see. The beloved streaming platform has been developing too many projects to get its users well entertained with lots of options. And recently, another beloved franchise has been announced as it comes along to meet its fans again. So now, The Terminator Universe is also coming back for its fans adapted into an anime series for Netflix!
Terminator first launched in 1984 as a low-budget B action movie starring Arnold Schwarzenegger and co-written and directed by James Cameron. The concept proved resilient and the movie helped push both men’s careers into overdrive as well. But it was the 1991’s Terminator: Judgement Day that made the franchise born truly after being a box office and cultural blockbuster. There have been six movies that various degrees of fan and box office success. The last successful one was 2019’s Terminator: Dark Fate, among with a 2008 live-action series and also a couple of web shorts.
And now, their first anime adaptation comes along. So it also will provide to see Arnold Schwarzenegger in two-dimensional for its fans this time. Mattson Tomlin, who also has written Project Power, known for co-writing The Batman, will act as showrunner in the upcoming anime series. Tomlin made a statement during the announcement of the upcoming Terminator series and said:

“Anyone who knows my writing knows I believe in taking big swings and going for the heart. I’m honored that Netflix and Skydance have given me the opportunity to approach Terminator in a way that breaks conventions, subverts expectations and has real guts.”

Netflix, Vice President of Japan & Anime John Derderian also said in the same statement,
“Terminator is one of the most iconic sci-fi stories ever created—and has only grown more relevant to our world over time. The new animated series will explore this universe in a way that has never been done before. We can’t wait for fans to experience this amazing new chapter in the epic battle between machines and humans.”
More details for the new anime series of The Terminator aren’t revealed yet. But on the other hand, Tomlin is known for his big and dark concepts. as well. That might give us some clue, at least in the next process. So, stay tuned for the news as we post them while they are coming.
