The Oscar awards are mostly synonymous with recognizing brilliant films. However, the 95th Academy Awards were surrounded by heated discussions as it nominatedLift Me Up’, ‘Naatu Naatu’, ‘Applause’, ‘Hold My Hand’, and ‘This Is a Life’ for Best Original Song. Each of the tracks has proven to be lightning in a bottle and the audiences saw winning potential in each one of the nominees. However, the stakes were higher for ‘Naatu Naatu’ from RRR and ‘Lift Me Up’ from Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. RRR‘s song won the gold for Best Original Song at the Academy Awards 2023, leaving behind pop stars like Rihanna and Lady Gaga.

‘Naatu Naatu’ became among the few foreign language songs to win the gold. Apart from taking home the gold and presenting an energy-packed dance performance, the singers also provided some amazing interviews. One of which hinted at a Rihanna collab and fans are all ears.

All five nominations in the Best Original Song category at the 95th Oscar Awards were brilliant. But if it came down to two, the competition was between Rihanna and Kaala Bhairava. However, an interview that the ‘Naatu Naatu’ singer gave before the commencement of the ceremony clearly indicates that the singer himself is a fan of Rihanna. When asked about how he feels performing on stage, the actor said that it was an honor. It is, however, the revelation that he is looking forward most to performing in front of pop Queen Rihanna that gained attention. “Maybe we could do a Naatu Naatu Rihanna version,?” Bhairava told Variety.

While RRR’s ‘Naatu Naatu’ became the Best Song, Rihanna’s performance of her Oscar-nominated song, which was a tribute to Chadwick Boseman, earned her a standing ovation.

Will the Work singer collaborate with Kaala Bhairava?

The ‘Lift Me Up’ singer is currently on a roll as she gives one stellar performance after another while carrying a baby. While the singer has hinted at new music, she has not released any so far. And if she does not take Naatu Naatu’s win as a snub for herself, then a Naatu Naatu with Rihanna’s touch is not entirely impossible.
