Today, Hugh Jackman is known for having the longest tenure as a superhero in the Marvel Studios. His performance swayed the fans as he perfectly captured the essence of the comic-book Wolverine. The Australian actor has appeared in seven movies over two decades becoming the king of the iconic X-Men franchise. It is surprising to know that the handsome man who garnered a huge fandom for his sharp claws and remarkable fighting skills once wasn’t even near the first choice to play this role.
Back in 2000, people were skeptical whether Hugh Jackman would do justice to the character. The lack of physical resemblance was questionable because this human equivalent animal was strikingly shorter than Jackman. However, his talent and perseverance overshadowed all those things, and now he is returning after a long pause. The man who previously discarded steroids for his Wolverine fitness routine is again starting the training.
Hugh Jackman is getting in shape to play Wolverine once again
During his latest appearance on the Who’s Talking To Chris Wallace, Hugh Jackman talked about his fitness routine for the upcoming team-up between Wolverine and Deadpool. The 54-year-old star stated that he needs to train for six months to achieve Wolverine fitness.
According to Metro, Jackman explained, “I’ve learned you can’t rush it. I’ve learned that it takes time. So, we have six months from when I finish [Broadway’s The Music Man] to when I started filming.”
He continued that he would utilize the upcoming months to train and be with his family. At this time, the actor is completely healthy because all the dancing and singing on broadway has kept him fit. “I have a good place to start. And apologies, chickens. Run a mile. Start running now because I’m coming for you,” added The Greatest Showman star.
For context, fans who always wonder how Hugh Jackman made such an incredible physique must know that he never used steroids for it. Looking back at the old days, he revealed that he always chose a natural way to build his muscles.
