Following the release of the first volume of the docuseries Harry & Meghan, Meghan Markle drew extreme flak and criticism on social media for disrespecting the late Queen. In one of the scenes, the Duchess described her thoughts after learning about the curtsying protocol for the first time. In the royal household, all the senior members are expected to curtsy to the monarch.

When Prince Harry told his then-girlfriend about curtsying to the late Queen even in private, Meghan Markle was taken back. In the show, she also did a weird action of spreading her hands while bowing down in a dramatic fashion to tell the viewers more clearly about her thoughts in 2016. The particular scene did not go well with the royal fans and they slammed the duchess for mocking Queen Elizabeth II. Amidst all the criticism, an old video of Markle stopping a woman from curtsying her has gone viral.

Meghan Markle is a hugger

The October 2019 video saw Meghan Markle receiving an energetic welcome from more than 2000 people in the tenth edition of One Young World Summit opening ceremony at the Royal Albert Hall in London. The Duchess walked to the stage with a big smile and open arms to hug one of the founders, Kate Robertson. To greet the Sussex royal, Robert started to dip into a curtsy, but Markle immediately took into a warm hug her. Notably, the founder and the former actress know each other since 2014.

The video received a lot of love and adulation from royal fans three years back as people compared Meghan Markle with the late Princess Diana. Meanwhile, Markle’s gesture also proved that she has always been a hugger. In the Netflix show, the Suits alum had claimed about being a hugger. Describing her first meeting with Kate Middleton and Prince William, the Duchess revealed that they found her hugging nature jarring and were extremely formal.
