This January, he and Ye amicably parted ways from their Def Jam recordings contract. Although the two shared mutual respect, the Mercy singer has had a changed opinion of the hip-hop artist since his barrage of social media outbursts.

What does Pusha T think of Kanye West?

Pusha T always appreciated Ye’s creativity. In an interview with the Los Angeles Times, the 45-year-old rapper was asked about his experience working with West. The artist answered about his former creative friend by saying, “Creatively, Ye has meant freedom to me.” As per him, the Flashing Lights singer asked the Diet Coke singer to stick to his true creative self and not change.

He always saw me for who I was and knew how to take it to the next level,” he added. Ye and he had previously worked on music pieces like Dreamin’ of the Past, Rock n Roll, and Diet Coke. The interviewer then touched on the topic of Ye’s recent controversies.
