“Ye has meant freedom to me” – Rapper Pusha T Praises Kanye West While Calling His Actions ‘Disappointing’
Pusha T praised Kanye West while also acknowledging his controversies. The rapper has known Ye since 2006 and even worked along will him for years after that. This January, he and Ye amicably parted ways from their Def Jam recordings contract. Although the two shared mutual respect, the Mercy singer has had a changed opinion of the hip-hop artist since his barrage of social media outbursts.
Pusha T Thorn, whose real name is Terrence Thornton, has his album Almost Dry nominated for the Grammy. In an interview, the artist and family man talked about his work, album, and thoughts on the old and new Kanye West.

What does Pusha T think of Kanye West?
Pusha T always appreciated Ye’s creativity. In an interview with the Los Angeles Times, the 45-year-old rapper was asked about his experience working with West. The artist answered about his former creative friend by saying, “Creatively, Ye has meant freedom to me.” As per him, the Flashing Lights singer asked the Diet Coke singer to stick to his true creative self and not change.
“He always saw me for who I was and knew how to take it to the next level,” he added. Ye and he had previously worked on music pieces like Dreamin’ of the Past, Rock n Roll, and Diet Coke. The interviewer then touched on the topic of Ye’s recent controversies.

The Mercy singer then opened up on his thoughts about the Donda singer’s anti-Semitic comments, and said, “as a Black man in America, there is no room for bigotry or hate speech.” He felt disappointed by Ye’s statements. West came under heavy fire for his comments on George Floyd’s death and the anti-Semitic tweet that said, “Death con 3 to Jewish people.”

Many people and companies distance themselves from Ye after his controversial opinions, not that it has kept him from sticking to his ground. Although musically, Pusha T shares a lot of similarities with West, there is a distinction in their thoughts.
