Hollywood A-lister Ryan Reynolds is just not a Hollywood A-lister anymore. While continuing to prosper as a top-tier actor in the industry, he also expanded his empire through various other profitable and philanthropic projects spread worldwide. The star strived to claim a whole football club, Wrexham FC, as his own with Hollywood Pal, Rob McElhenney. Undoubtedly, the team fetched the star much profit and stardom in its initial stages of acquiring the ownership. However, the testing times have thus arrived.
As reported by BBC, the star, along with his co-owner Rob McElhenney, lost almost €3 million in a year since overtaking Wrexham FC. The major hit came to the media limelight moments before it was published officially on the club’s website. A statement released stated that despite turnover being up five times in the previous year, that stood at €6.

Although the news was entirely unexpected, Reynolds and McElhenney have their hopes intact. The measures enlisted by the website seem promising enough. Previous data also made it clear that this year’s losses were almost less than triple of how they had begun in its initial years. With increasing internal crisis and other major issues at an all-time high, Ryan Reynolds, and Rob McElhenney are planning on things to get back on their feet.

Talking about the breakdown of the budget for 2022, the outlet stated that he received a match day monthly income. In addition to that, his retail sales in the shop and the funds that were raised online have worked and have also been taken into consideration. The sponsorship scheme and advertisement roughly amounted to a total of €1.053 million.

The latest records for the 12 months ending in June 2022 reflected a total loss of £2.914m. Employees and other working staff were sent the notice that the figure was down “to a surge in player wages and football costs.” Reynolds and McElhanney originally set up a company called R.R. McReynolds LLC to buy the club for £2m in 2021.

Wrexham AFC affirmed last year in June that the firm gave a loan of £3.67m to the club. The same included funds to buy the freehold of the Racecourse ground, as well as £1.2m of investment in the form of shares.
