Will the New Bill Give King Charles III the Power to Strip Prince Harry and Meghan Markle of Royal Titles?
Following their exit from the royal family over two years back, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have stripped off His Royal Highness and Her Royal Highness titles. However, the couple retained their royal titles of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex despite not being working royals. A lot of royal experts and monarchists do not want the Sussexes to continue with their titles as they no longer live in the United Kingdom.
However, a few days back, it was observed that King Charles III does not hold the power to strip Prince Harry and Meghan Markle of their royal titles. The monarch does not have a say in it, as the royal prince was given the title of Duke due to his male lineage. Just like Prince Harry, Prince Andrew also holds the title of the Duke of York despite not being a working royal. However, the Labor Party MP Rachael Maskell is proposing a bill in December which might change things.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle can be in trouble in the bill gets passed
The bill titled Removal of Titles will give the power to the monarch or a Committee of Parliament to remove the royal titles of certain members of the royal family if they deem them unfit to carry out their jobs. Interestingly, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are not the inspiration behind Rachael Maskell presenting the bill in the Parliament.

As mentioned by Marca, The MP of York is putting the bill on behalf of the people of her constituency as they do not want Prince Andrew to be known as the Duke of York. The people of York want Andrew to be stripped of his royal title following the revelations of his scandals and affairs.
While the bill might not be proposed for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, it is bound to affect them. If it gets passed in the Parliament, they will be at the mercy of King Charles III or the government as far as their title of Sussex royals is concerned.
