Oscars may have closed its door on Will Smith but the movie industry has not. Especially after Smith proved why he was and will continue to be one of the best actors in Hollywood with Emancipation. Many fans have reconsidered the Oscar ban ever since the release of the movie. Akin to how Smith has extended a thread of understating stating “I completely understand” in case someone does not want to watch him on screen, the audience too is relenting in their stance.

While many of the actors’ friends, famously Kevin Hart, have come out in his support, Will Smith is getting his biggest green flag after the Oscar slap from renowned director Jerry Bruckheimer.

Why is Jerry Bruckheimer supporting Smith?

If you thought that slapping a host onstage at the Oscars would make Hollywood drop Will Smith then you might need to think again. Following the embarrassing stunt, the Men In Black actor had been off the spotlight for quite a while. Both the impact of the slap and his absence from the limelight, although much needed, resulted in a drop in both popularity and profit.

But one thing it did not strain is the faith that people had in Will Smith as an actor. And Jerry Bruckheimer whose best creation Bad Boys franchise consists of Smith has lent his full support to the actor. When asked by THR whether a Bad Boys 4 starring Will Smith would be possible, he said “Absolutely“.

Bruckheimer further added, “I mean, Will made a mistake, unfortunately. That’s not who he is. He’s a phenomenal actor and there’s always forgiveness in the world. And hopefully, the audience will forgive him.”

Will Bad Boys 4 release with the original cast?

One of the major reasons behind the multi-million dollar box office collection of numerous Bad Boys movies is the chemistry between Will Smith and Martin Lawrence. Making a Bad Boys movie without the actor would be like making a biography about him while refraining from using his name.

After the massive success that Bad Boys for Life saw in 2020, making a Bad Boys 4 would not only benefit Jerry Bruckheimer but also the actor he so dearly cherishes and believes in. And news from the Sony Pictures headquarters indicates that a Bad Boys 4 is very much in the making.
