Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith have been the power couple of Hollywood for more than 25 years now. In the past 25 years of their marriage, they have seen a lot of ups and downs. However, they have always stood together and proved to the world that they are made for each other.

Even though they might have some rules at the beginning of their marriage, they broke them in the middle of their journey. Initially, both Smith and his wife had a specific idea of what a spouse’s roles were. But in August 2014, she claimed that they had broken all the rules they ever had. “Once I broke all of that, a whole new world opened for me,” said Smith during a 2014 interview with Net-A-Porter magazine (via ABC News).

She also told the publication that at the beginning of their married life, they had too many rules, but as they moved on in their relationship, everything seemed to go into flow. The 51-year-old actress said that calling Smith her husband was way too small a word, as he meant so much more to her than being just her “husband”. Even though they had a different idea of breaking rules, in 2015, Jada Pinkett did it a different way.

Later that year, in the month of August, the rumors of the couple being in an open relationship were out. However, the Set It Off actress took it to Facebook and addressed the gossipmongers by saying that she and the King Richard actor are in a healthy relationship.

She also mentioned that she and her husband are allowed to do anything because they trust each other very much. Hence, their relationship should be addressed as a “grown one” and not an open one. But, their relationship was really tested in the year 2015, when Jada Pinkett got involved with singer August Alsina. The American singer was introduced to the Smith family by the couple’s son, Jaden Smith.

The entanglement of the two was recently called out by comedian Chris Rock in his Netflix show Selective Outrage. It was mainly because of the infamous Slapgate incident that took place at the 94th Academy Awards. However, the couple has not reacted to it yet and there are chances they might not in the future.
