Furthermore, unlike his movie and career, Weird Al’s name is true and much sober: Alfred Matthew.

Years later, Weird: The Al Yankovic Story is finally a full-fledged movie. Back in 2013, he released a parody trailer akin to his songs, and the description read, “This film is sure to sweep next year’s Academy Awards.” And with how the satirical film is being applauded by viewers, it is highly likely to scoop up an Oscar or two. Everything about the flick, from the brilliant end product to how it was made, is unlike any other. What is the movie about?

If you are familiar with Weird Al’s music, then you know that it is quite a satirical and intriguing take on some of the greatest hits of all time. Akin to his career, his “biographical film” is loosely based on the real-life events that took place.

While the singer may himself be considered quite underrated, the movie stars the greatest wizard of all time, Daniel Radcliffe, as Yankovic. Critics’ Choice Television Award winner, Evan Rachel Wood plays the iconic Madonna.
