Will Roku’s ‘Weird: The Al Yankovic Story’ Movie Be On Netflix?
Angelina Jolie, Shahrukh Khan, Meryl Streep, Disney movies, and now adding to the sparse list of things that age well in this world, is Weird: The Al Yankovic Story released by none other than weird Al on Funny Or Die almost a decade ago. Furthermore, unlike his movie and career, Weird Al’s name is true and much sober: Alfred Matthew.
Years later, Weird: The Al Yankovic Story is finally a full-fledged movie. Back in 2013, he released a parody trailer akin to his songs, and the description read, “This film is sure to sweep next year’s Academy Awards.” And with how the satirical film is being applauded by viewers, it is highly likely to scoop up an Oscar or two. Everything about the flick, from the brilliant end product to how it was made, is unlike any other. Weird: The Al Yankovic Story was filmed within the span of eighteen days, with a budget of $8 million.

What is the movie about?
If you are familiar with Weird Al’s music, then you know that it is quite a satirical and intriguing take on some of the greatest hits of all time. Akin to his career, his “biographical film” is loosely based on the real-life events that took place.
While the singer may himself be considered quite underrated, the movie stars the greatest wizard of all time, Daniel Radcliffe, as Yankovic. Critics’ Choice Television Award winner, Evan Rachel Wood plays the iconic Madonna.
Rainn Wilson, Julianne Nicholson, Toby Huss, and Arturo Castro deliver strong supporting performances. Given the brilliance, fans from all around the world are wondering where to watch the movie.

Starring two of Hollywood’s most popular stars and a musician who is known for his eccentric lyrics, it is weird how Weird: The Al Yankovic Story is not available on Netflix. As a matter of fact, it is hardly available to stream on any global OTT platform. All broadcasting rights for this satirical biography are owned by Roku.

The flick is available to watch on The Roku Channel website, but there are high chances that you won’t be able to watch the movie despite buying a subscription. Roku is not available to access in countries that are not the US, UK, and Canada. And the curly-haired Liked a Surgeon singer had quite a few punny jokes about it. So unless Roku is available in your country, there is no other legal way to watch the movie.
