Robbie Amell first appeared in The Witcher in season 3, embodying the character Gallatin. He was the leader of the Scoia’tael Army, which fought for Nilfgaard. Being an elf himself, he wanted his people to live freely, so he believed Nilgaard could enable the same. The actor played this fierce warrior so amazingly that it seemed he would have a bigger role despite his depiction in the books. However, Gallatin’s role ends up being fairly minor in the grand scheme of the season.
In episode 3, Cahir killed him to prove his loyalty to Emperor Emphyr or White Flame. This scenario might have cut-shot the storyline of Gallatin, but there is still a chance for fans to see him in flashbacks of season 4. Though Amell’s role was a short-lived moment it was good to see the character in the show even if for three episodes.
While the show gave this elf limelight for fleeing moments, it would surprise people he was not a part of the storyline.

It is no secret that the creators of the Netflix adaptation of this fantasy saga have strayed from the origin. In fact, they created a new character for season 3 named Gallatin. When his addition to the characters was announced in April 2022, they described him as a born warrior who was never afraid to speak his truth. He was loyal to his people, but his beliefs always clashed with Francesca.
While he believed in allying with Nilfgaard, the Elven queen seemed persistent in finding Ciri, who was prophesied to save them. Since he died in season 3, now viewers will see what Francesca does to save her people. She knew the emperor had her baby killed and this revelation would change the dynamics even more in the upcoming season.
