When we talk about some of the biggest movie franchises, there are few that can be termed to be as big and successful as Bond. A big part of the success comes from always getting the right actor to play the role of the coveted action hero. And now that Daniel Craig has hung his shoes for the James Bond role, it is now time to find the next face to lead the franchise. Well, as things are, it is a high chance that one of the handsome actors from Netflix will book their name for the role. So, who is it going to be? Let us give you a hint: He could be from Peaky Blinders, The Witcher, or Bridgerton.

Even though the frontrunner for the role of Bond is already a big name and a Netflix star, there are two more familiar faces for the streaming network’s fans that they might find in the race. Here we look at the odds these actors have on sealing the role of the greatest action hero character ever. So, with no further ado, let’s just dive right into it.

Can Peaky Blinders star Cillian Murphy be the second Irish actor to land the Bond role?

If the betting race for the next Bond actor is to be believed, it would not be a surprise if the Peaky Blinders actor Cillian Murphy bags the role. With the rumors of finalizing the next Bond actor going around, and Cillian giving an absolutely alluring performance with Peaky Blinders Season 6, it would just be a cherry on the cake if he lands the James Bond franchise. He would be the second Irish actor to play the role, the first being Pierce Brosnan should he bag the role.

Murphy had his odds cut to 28-1, and is probably the most talked-about actor regarding the open spot for the Bond role. However, he is still a little behind two other Irish actors, Jamie Dornan (14/1) and Michael Fassbender (25/1). However, we have previously heard Cillian talk about how he is not interested in the role and wants a woman to take it up. “I think it should be a woman, which rules me out,” he famously said.

Henry Cavill from The Witcher and Regé-Jean Page from Bridgerton might also lay a claim to the role

While we are talking about Cillian getting a chance at playing Bond, we ought to talk about a man who probably has the role in his bag. We are, of course, talking about Geralt of Rivia aka The Witcher‘s Henry Cavill. Cavill had his odds cut to  2-1 in the last week. Henry would honestly just fit like a glove to this role. We will indeed love to see him take up this action-hero mantle.

Following Cavill is the star of yet another Netflix hit series, Regé-Jean Page from Bridgerton. Although he will not be a part of the much-awaited Bridgerton Season 2, there are chances we will see him as the next James Bond. It is not even hard to picture him in the role, and for once it would be an exhilarating experience to see a person of color play the role. His odds stand at 11-4 currently.
