Will Millie Bobby Brown’s ‘Damsel’ Be a Franchise Just Like ‘Enola Holmes’? Here’s What We Know
Millie Bobby Brown has emerged as Netflix’s top star in the past years. Starting from Stranger Things, the actress signed several other projects with the streamer. In 2020, the actress took the titular character in Enola Holmes and continued to entertain viewers in the second installment. Now she is ready to channel her inner warrior with the upcoming movie Damsel, which puts a subversive spin on traditional fairy tale tropes.
While the fantasy film has created much hype among fans, the bigger question is whether it will be a franchise like Enola Holmes.

As of now, the fantasy drama Damsel, starring Millie Bobby Brown, will come to the audiences as a single film. But the excitement itself tells it could be lucrative for the streaming service. Netflix teased the first look of Damsel during the 2023 session of Geeked Week, which stirred the internet. The video showed the teen trying to find her way out of a dark cave. This story offers great potential for the streamer to take this princess-turned-warrior to more adventures.
In the upcoming film, Princess Elodie will break free from norms and fight against the fire-breathing dragon. Not to mention, the fantasy genre opens immense possibilities for storytellers and Netflix can make a franchise out of this plotline. When Enola Holmes first arrived, it was unclear if there would be more movies, but its success led to the franchise.
Just like that, Damsel can tie into an ongoing genre trend and make more movies on the young brave woman who stood alone against the world. However, these things can only move forward when the film arrives in 2024 and receives positive reviews. Besides this, the Enola Holmes Universe has been renewed for another film, which is expected to bring something exciting for the fans.

The head of the Netflix film, Scott Stuber, confirmed the development of Enola Holmes 3. The second film left the character with plenty of stories to explore. After confessing her love to Tewkesbury and growing close to the older sibling Sherlock Holmes, her adventures in London have just started. The next installment will bring more new characters, including Dr. John Watson played by Himesh Patel.
Apart from this, Stuber also expressed his admiration for their “homegrown star” Millie Bobby Brown, who has worked hard all these years. According to him, the Holmes IP was “weirdly elastic” and they would love to create more stories with this young and talented superstar. So these things tell Netflix will continue to expand their projects that involve the actress.
