With the departure of Henry Cavill, The Witcher is on high stakes. The show became successful mainly because of the British superstar and his knowledge of the character. People loved watching him donning the medallion of Geralt, but when he left, he took away the interest of fans too. So viewers have been speculating if the creators will add more characters to fill this gap and win back their trust. And if one considers this, Renfri, whom Emma Appleton played, would be an excellent addition because of her connection to the mutant. 

The bigger question, however, remains: how can the character return to the fourth season?

Can Emma Appleton reprise her role in The Witcher season 4? 

Despite appearing in only one episode, Renfri has played an essential role in the storyline. Emma Appleton starred in season 1 of The Witcher when Henry Cavill’s Geralt entered the town of Blaviken. He met Renfri, who wore a cowl secured by a Celtic-style pin brooch, for the first time there. Soon after that, the White Wolf found himself in the middle of a conflict between her and the sorcerer Stregobor. 

In an attempt to stop her, the monster slayer killed her men and fought the character, fatally wounding her. The princess-turned-bandit’s last words revealed the girl in the forest as his eternal destiny, referring to Ciri. This moment was a critical point that changed Geralt’s life forever, making him realize his responsibility to the world around him. Renfri became an inevitable memory for him despite her death in season 1.

He carried her broach with him in the following season and even recalled her in the third season. So it is possible that the character will pop up in his memories once again in the upcoming season. While it remains unclear if Emma Appleton will get to reprise her breakout role or not, she certainly has other projects to look forward to.

The English actress stars in Dean Puckett’s debut film

In June, Deadline reported that Emma Appleton will lead the cast in an untitled indie British folk horror. This film marks the debut of filmmaker Dean Puckett. The outlet shared the first look of the movie, which had already wrapped shooting on the southwest coast of England. It featured the actress dressed in old English clothing with her face drenched in blood. 

The title of the film remains under wraps, however, Deadline revealed it will focus on a brutal witch hunt that endangers a small religious community after a town member dies under mysterious circumstances. Other cast members include Jodhi May, Barney Harris, and Lewis Gribben, alongside James Swanton, Oliver Maltman, and Toby Stephens.
