Different ratings for movies
The Motion Pictures Association creates an independent group of parents to rate the movies. Thanks to them, it saves us from awkwardness. Five types of ratings exist to help classify the film for a suitable audience.
- G (General Audience) – Nothing that would offend parents for viewing by children. “Feel the Beat” and “Our Planet” are examples of this category.
- PG (Parental Guidance Suggested) – May contain some material parents might not like for their young children. “Enola Holmes” and “Goosebumps” come under this classification.
- PG-13 (Parents Strongly Cautioned) – Some material may be inappropriate for pre-teenagers. Movies like “The Social Dilemma” and “The Perks of Being a Wallflower” fall under this category.
- R (Restricted) – Contains some adult material. “Yes, God, Yes” and “The Babysitter” franchise are some examples.
- NC-17 (No One 17 and Under Admitted) – Clearly adult. It does not admit children. “365 Days” and “Amar” are a part of this category.
