A friendship that the Internet just cannot have enough of. Therefore, when Chopra was among the handpicked guests at Markle’s wedding, everyone wanted to know the tea.

The Quantico actress has supported her, honored her, and even stood up for her. But that does not mean that Priyanka Chopra wanted Meghan Markle as her bridesmaid.

Why did Priyanka Chopra deny Meghan Markle from being her bridesmaid?

The Royal wedding took place on the 19th of May, but the preparations had begun long back. Therefore, when the Quantico actress appeared on Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen, there were several discussions about Markle’s wedding ranging from her dress to her plus one. The most important question, however, did not revolve around Markle’s wedding but that of Priyanka Chopra herself. A caller by the name of Bethany asked Chopra if Meghan Markle would be a bridesmaid at her wedding. And this was a first for the Indian actress, and she looked visibly taken aback.

This was not the first time the word ‘bridesmaid’ had been brought into their friendship. Reports of Chopra being a bridesmaid at Markle’s wedding were swirling around town. But fortunately it proved to be false considering how things turned out. As of Markle being a bridesmaid for Priyanka Chopra, the actress had said, “It depends on who I get married to.”

It is to be noted that at that time, Chopra was yet to find her Prince Charming in Nick Jonas. The actress reasoned that she might have an Indian wedding with no bridesmaid. A reason why Chopra may have held her nose the other way round is due to the Palace’s strict regulations now that her friend was a part of it.

Meghan Markle’s nuptial to Prince Harry made way for many permanent things. The couple who took their vows are still going strong, as proven by the Harry & Meghan Netflix docuseries. Piers Morgan, who wasn’t invited by Meghan Markle, is still crossed. And similarly, Priyanka Chopra, who was invited, is still among the Duchess’ top-40 friends.

In 2021, when Markle listed her forty friends as she turned forty, Priyanka Chopra made a pleasant remote appearance as reported by Style. Given how fiercely Priyanka Chopra has protected Markle every step of the way, her support must have proven to be a ledge in a flood for Meghan Markle, and the two are still going strong.
