Rian Johnson is all out to expand his Knives Out universe
Two months back, Rian Johnson joined Krista on Skip Intro to talk about his Knives Out follow-up. In the interview, the writer/producer/director of the whodunit franchise revealed his plans for the expansion. The American filmmaker said that he is ready to bring new ideas about the next mystery.
“I’m already starting to, not because I feel like, ‘Boy, I better get the next one going,’ but because it’s so much fun,” explained the 49-year-old filmamker. Moreover, he also reflected on the creation of the previous two films, that he liked how Knives Out and Glass Onion are entirely different.

According to him, the credit goes to Agatha Christie, whose work inspires him to do something unique every time. “How she would always find ways of completely shaking it up from book to book and making it exciting for the reader. She was creatively challenging herself each time,” remarked Johnson. Therefore, he asked all the fans to tighten their seatbelts as Knives Out 3 will be distinctive and thrilling just like previous ones.
