Whodunit Updates: After Serving Fans Two Deadly and Thrilling Riddles Rian Johnson Is Now Ready for ‘Knives Out 3’

About two weeks ago, whodunit fans dived into the world of Rian Johnson’s Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery. The movie instantly captured the attention of subscribers and entered the Most Popular List with 209.40M hours viewed. With a Certified Fresh score of 93% on Rotten Tomatoes, this mystery drama received favorable responses from critics and audiences. The excited fans made it evident that they couldn’t get enough of Benoit Blanc and his cases. 

Reprising his role as the intrepid detective Daniel Craig peeled back the layers of a secret murder once again. Although he seemed more chilled out this time, enjoying his trip to a private island in Greece. You all might have loved the deliciously twisty remix of the classic British-style murder mystery. Just like its predecessor, this film was a perfect reminder of how remarkable the writer/director is at his work. And after serving us two deadly and thrilling riddles, he is ready for another ingenious story.

Rian Johnson is all out to expand his Knives Out universe 

Two months back, Rian Johnson joined Krista on Skip Intro to talk about his Knives Out follow-up. In the interview, the writer/producer/director of the whodunit franchise revealed his plans for the expansion. The American filmmaker said that he is ready to bring new ideas about the next mystery.

“I’m already starting to, not because I feel like, ‘Boy, I better get the next one going,’ but because it’s so much fun,” explained the 49-year-old filmamker. Moreover, he also reflected on the creation of the previous two films, that he liked how Knives Out and Glass Onion are entirely different.

According to him, the credit goes to Agatha Christie, whose work inspires him to do something unique every time. “How she would always find ways of completely shaking it up from book to book and making it exciting for the reader. She was creatively challenging herself each time,” remarked Johnson. Therefore, he asked all the fans to tighten their seatbelts as Knives Out 3 will be distinctive and thrilling just like previous ones.
