The remorseful event that took place a few days back when the great queen of England died. At the age of 96, Queen Elizabeth II left the world in peace, surrounded by her family at Balmoral Castle in Scotland. However, the illustrious chapters of her life will continue to inspire people today and in the future also. Adapting all those moments from the life of Elizabeth II and her royal family, Peter Morgan created a historical drama, The Crown, which shall be premiering its season 5 soon.

The television series started in 2016 and has been continued for four seasons. Now fans are waiting for the arrival of season 5, which will cast a new lead face. Do you know who will play the following Queen Elizabeth II?

The Crown last ended with Olivia Colman playing the role of Her Majesty and viewers watching Prince Charles’ marriage. Season 4 was set in the 1970s when Britain got its first female Prime Minister, Margaret Thatcher (Gillian Anderson). Now, season 5 is ready to set its foot on Netflix this winter season and will premiere in November.

Last year the official page of The Crown posted a video message where they revealed the actor to play the queen. They announced that the famous Harry Potter star Imelda Staunton would be Elizabeth 2 in season 5. Moreover, the actress said that she would give her best to this role while maintaining the glory they have attained.

“I will do my utmost to maintain the very high standard that they set. Hopefully, I look calm, collected, and capable. My stomach, meanwhile, is doing somersaults,” stated Staunton 


Meanwhile, season 5 will dive into the chaotic marriage life of Charles and Princess Diana, who divorced in 1996. And viewers will see a lot of actors displaying this royal family onscreen.

The cast members joining Staunton are Dominic West, Elizabeth Debicki, Jonathan Pryce, Lesley Manville, Jonny Lee Miller, Marcia Warren, Olivia Williams, Claudia Harrison, James Murray, Emma Laird Craig, and Sam Woolf.
