Who was Warhol?

Andrew Warhola Jr. was born on August 6th, 1928. Andy is one of the most influential figures in the visual art movement called Pop Art.

His art is a blend of the celebrity culture that was at its peak in the 1960s, artistic expression, and advertising. His work of art includes painting, photography, and experimental films that are now cult classics.

Andy can easily be called America’s best-known artist. In fact, Andy and Picasso are the two most influential artists of the 20th century. Despite being a Jack of all trades, Andy was still a master of all. His book a, A Novel was the best book of the 1960s.

It is common belief that Andy revolutionized the mass media. He understood the importance of art and chose to capitalize on it. Andy was always at the right place at the right time. However, all this publicity and popularity was, in fact, a little dangerous for him.

In June of 1968, Andy was shot by Valerie Solanas inside his studio. His wounds from the bullet led to gallbladder surgery complication that sadly was the reason for his demise in 1987.

Netflix actively commissions documentaries on figures of great importance throughout history. So when the streaming giant announced a six-episode limited docuseries about Andy Warhol, everyone expected great content.
