The royal family of Britain holds the badge of being the most renowned monarch in the world. For the past few years, the House of Windsor has made it to the headlines, mostly because of controversies and scandals. It was just two years back that the Palace was hit by a massive blow and Prince Harry and Meghan Markle announced their decision of leaving the family to settle in California.

Despite their exit, they are popular among the people in the United Kingdom. Recently, a poll was conducted by the Daily Mail to reveal the most popular member of the royal family. The results were a little surprising as Prince William and Kate Middleton took the first and second positions, respectively. Meanwhile, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle occupied the fifth and sixth spots. The Financial World also conducted a poll to know the most influential royal and the results are quite shocking.

Meghan Markle is in third place in the poll

The poll results have been announced on the basis of Google searches, Instagram hashtags, and TikTok views. Most people were expecting either Kate Middleton or Meghan Markle to lead the charts. However, it is Queen Elizabeth II who has leapfrogged her two granddaughters-in-law. The late monarch fetched a whopping 18.7 billion views on TikTok and 1.6 million Instagram hashtags while she was also searched 4.7 million times on Google.

The Princess of Wales follows the Queen at the second spot. Middleton appeared in Google searches 2.9 million times. She had 6.3 billion views on TikTok and her Instagram hashtag recorded an engagement of 1.4 million. The third place is acquired by Meghan Markle. The Duchess of Sussex was searched 4.5 million times, and it makes her the second most Googled royal this year after Queen Elizabeth II. 

The newly appointed monarch, King Charles III, miserably failed in making an impact as he occupied the sixth place on the list. The Prince of Wales, Prince William, is also met with disappointment as he is seventh. However, Prince Harry is fourth, just behind his wife. The fifth slot has a surprising mention of Princess Diana. Diana’s presence in the charts speaks volumes about her popularity as it has been 25 years since her death.
