The streaming giant, notorious for bringing different genres of drama to the screen, is at it again. This time, it will release the iconic psychological drama Whiplash on November 1. This widely acclaimed film, which was released in 2014, has a Rotten Tomatoes score of 94%. The movie was created by the genius mind of Damien Chazelle and features actors, Miles Teller and J.K. Simmons. More than the characters, the audience was captivated by the film’s fantastic narrative.
The plot revolves around Andrew Neiman (played by Miles Teller), who aims to be the greatest jazz drummer of all time. He enters the elite Shaffer Conservatory in New York City and soon finds himself on the radar of music teacher Terence Fletcher (played by J.K. Simmons), the leader of a top-tier band. The young Neiman impressed Fletcher with his musical abilities and persuaded him to train him. However, what unfolds is far from the inspiring teacher-student duo portrayals that audiences have become used to.
Whiplash’s arrival would undoubtedly enhance Netflix’s ratings. But just in case, a 94% percent rated movie fails to work, the streaming giant has a Shawn Levy masterpiece waiting in the roaster.
