Many may beg to differ, but politics and acting can be considered sister careers. Success in both fields requires a connection with the masses, a strong voice, and the ability to act as well as deliver. Therefore, it does not come as a shock that Arnold Schwarzenegger did not have much trouble becoming the Governor of California after becoming famous as a robotic assassin. And it definitely does not come as a shock that many other veteran actors have also followed his lead.
While one may argue that politics comes easily to actors, there is also no disagreeing that the leaps and bounds that individuals have to go through in order to create a niche for themselves are extremely difficult. The odds of winning the position you are running for are always at slim.
It is human nature to not believe that an actor who spent a major part of his life entertaining you on screens could be trusted with the betterment of a province. Despite the hurdles, many from the acting industry have persevered as politicians. And in the 2022 elections, some of our favorite actors have taken up the challenge of bringing a change.
Arnold Schwarzenegger sets an example for actors coming into politics
One of the most influential moments in the history of California is when Arnold Schwarzenegger, one of the best bodybuilders and highest-paid actors, took the office as the Governor of California. Furthermore, Schwarzenegger became the governor in 2003. And his term continued till 2011.
During his time as the governor, Schwarzenegger passed a bill to decrease California’s greenhouse gas emissions in 2006, and also increased the minimum wage of the state.
In 2022, Ben Savage is running for West Hollywood, California for city council. The actor, who has remained a pivotal part of most of our childhoods with Boy Meets World, believes that West Hollywood faces “serious challenges” ahead, and thinks he is the right guy.

The votes for the midterm elections will decide whether Ben Savage will make it to the West Hollywood city council or not. Anson Williams, too, has put his name in for mayor in Ojai, California. According to him, “this isn’t about politics at all,” reports Fox News.
