Ryan Reynolds may now have learned the ways of the big screen, but he was once a student and did make a few mistakes and a few other poor decisions. Along the lines comes his 2011 superhero flick, Green Lantern. The most Warner Bros could make out of that movie is a beautiful couple Hollywood boasts about till the very date. But apart from that, it was seemingly a bad decision from both ends.
Notably, some two years later, news surfaced that Green Lantern is one of the heroes Warner Bros has shortlisted for their upcoming (going to be a blockbuster hit) movie, Justice League. They had already confirmed the return of Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, and Flash. The actor behind the superhero in concern was reportedly contemplating, rather he was reluctant to return to the character.
The reason you ask? Well, it was a very genuine one indeed. Reynolds told Empire Magazine that there is no point in returning to a character if one cannot click with him the way comics fans do. “Working on Green Lantern, I saw how difficult it is to make that concept palatable, and how sort of confused it can all be when you don’t really know where you’re going with it.”
And although Reynolds did not appear as this superhero, he did take up the role of Deadpool and that went on to become a grand success.
Latest updates on Ryan Reynolds and his Deadpool flick
Deadpool 3 marks the return of Ryan Reynolds’ Merc with the mouth superhero along with the Iron-clawed mutant, Wolverine. Notably, Shawn Levy will be helming the movie. While the movie will land on our screens in 2024, Ryan Reynolds and Shawn Levy have already signed yet another movie together after The Adam Project, Free Guy, and the Deadpool series.

After the third installment of the superhero flick, the two will reportedly work on another comedy, Boy Band. It seems like the two cannot stop working with each other. If time allows, Levy will both produce and direct the movie. The Canadian actor has notably penned the movie alongside Jesse Andrews and will probably start working on it after the shooting for the upcoming Deadpool flick is done.
