The fact that Meghan Markle, prior to her glory days as a royal and a flourishing actress, was a commoner is often stressed upon. While some do it to prove her malicious intent of ruining the royal family, others just marvel at how someone who was working part-time jobs to sustain herself could end up becoming the Duchess of Sussex one day. Whatever the motive is, it is hard to dismiss proofs of Meghan Markle being a generous and kind person long before she even had got a crucial role in Suits. Especially if the proof happens to be Mission: Impossible- Ghost Protocol actress Paula Patton.

A lot has happened in the past years, however, the debate around what kind of person Meghan Markle is was just as fiery as it is now, back when Prince Harry and Meghan Markle decided to get married. And Patton shared an incident where she met Markle coincidentally and predicted that she was meant to be a royal.

What made Paula Patton think Meghan Markle was “meant to be a royal”

Markle did not immediately hit it off as an actress and it proved to be quite a struggle. When she was auditioning in Los Angeles, the Duke of Sussex found herself doing a “pseudo-waitressing job” in order to pay her bills, as reported by Esquire in 2013. She named Patton among one of her clients. And in 2018, things came full circle when Paula Patton told Entertainment Tonight how spellbound she was by Markle’s calligraphy. “That moment I feel like I said something to her. Like, ‘it really meant you to be royal.‘” the Mission: Impossible actress said.

By pseudo-waitressing job, Markle meant putting her calligraphy skills to use. Patton recalled that she met her in 2005, meaning Markle was only twenty-four then. By the time the actress sat on the royal cartridge with Prince Harry, she was thirty-six years old. Who would have thought Paula Patton’s epiphany would come true the way it did?

Have Markle and Patton worked together?

While Meghan Markle has worked for Paula Patton, she has never worked with her. They met when Patton was already a successful actress getting married to Robin Thicke, and Markle was still auditioning. Moreover, fans have often pointed out the similarities in their looks and thrown in the idea of one playing the other.

While the odds were not in their favor then, now would be a great time for them to reunite and actually work together. Markle and her husband are moving towards producing fictional projects and Patton was quite the money maker in the 90s for fictional projects.
