Netflix’s very own definition of a comfort show, Virgin River, is set for the release of its season 4. The series is a relatively new one with season 1 released at the very end of 2019 but has quickly managed to become a fan favorite. Virgin River season 4 release date

It was in December of 2019 when Virgin River first appeared on Netflix. The series, although produced by Reel World Management, has been disturbed by Netflix right from the very beginning. This means that it premiered on the platform itself.

Being welcomed with positive critical reception and managing to woo a great number of fans at the same time, the series was renewed instantly. Season 2 came out in the November of 2020 and the third season in July 2021. Netflix then renewed Virgin River for season 4 and season 5, the first of which will be on the platform in mid-2022.

With its production completed, fans are expecting a release date anytime between April and June of this year.

Plot and unanswered questions

What do The Witcher, Shadow and Bone, Bridgerton, and The Maid have in common? Apart from being Netflix’s biggest hits, these Netflix Originals and series find their roots in fan-favorite books. Continuing this trend of Netflix book adaptations is Virgin River.

The series is based on Robyn Carr’s Virgin River books. Although the show doesn’t truly follow the books, the general plot of the two has remained the same. The Netflix series is much more fast-paced as compared to the books. Season 1 alone covered the plot of the first two books in the series: Virgin River and Shelter Mountain. Creators of the show have also added a number of many dramatic elements that make it compelling to watch, unlike the books, which have kept the drama to a minimum.

Jack being shot and Charmaine getting pregnant are two examples of the dramatic additions made to the series. While they didn’t change the outcome as compared to the books, they certainly made the road a lot bumpier. This means that fans who have read the books can expect the same general plot but with many twists and turns to get there.

With this in mind, fans are definitely looking forward to the series and expecting a lot of their questions to be answered soon. Will Hope survive? Will Mel and Jack, finally, get engaged? What in the world happened to Preacher and is he going to be okay? And the most burning question of all—who shot Jack?
